I didn't have much time to do a specific shot for today's 365 so have just used this one from a family celebration. The original image was shot in full colour but posterised and then converted to mono in Photoshop.

Another Watch

Art?

Red food colouring dripped into a tall narrow, straight-sided, clear glass vase. The water had thousands of microscopic bubbles which give the speckled effect. A little bit of manipulation in Photoshop and, voila!

Jupiter

This certainly isn't the best piece of astrophotographic work you'll ever see, by a long chalk, but it shows just what is possible with a relatively small level of magnification. The bright object in the centre of the image is Jupiter - by far the brightest body in our skies just now. Immediately beside it, at the four o'clock position is one of its moons, while at ten o'clock two moons are visible.

Newel Post - 115 years old!

Will any of us stand the wear and tear this piece of stairway furniture has over its lifetime? Built 1898 and still going strong.

A New Friend.....

My newest little friend. Soon this diminutive marvel will be launched skywards in an attempt to catch some random aerial video footage and stills. Contemplating one of three methods to achieve flight: water and air propelled [home made] rocket; radio controlled helicopter (shop bought); custom  [home] built quad copter.

The rocket would be by far the best fun although be virtually uncontrollable. The quad copter is probably the safest and most suitable method. We shall see!

If anyone has any helpful hints or tips please feel free to share them.
