I caught this rainbow after a real heavy downpour around tea-time today. I find rainbows extremely difficult to capture on camera with the same vividness seen by the eye. Tips and hints gratefully received.
I think rainbows are faint a tranclucent by nature, not sure how it could be captured better. Maybe underexposing the image and blending it with a correctly exposed one - keeping the underexposed rainbow. Or just selecting this one and increasing the saturation, and sliding the black's slider up to give it some contrast?
In 'real-life' I work for the NHS, the rest of my time largely being taken up with photography and associated topics. I enjoy trying different things with photography and would rather take a dozen crap shots than miss that one 'million dollar image'.

ReplyDeleteSounds a sensible set of ideas.
