Thursday - Mystery Lamp Post

Does anyone want to suggest where this lamp post is situated. This was taken very early in the morning while the moon was still visible. I thought it looked OK incorporated into this shot.

Wednesday - Tate Modern

The turbine hall at Tate Modern. This huge space housed the generators when this building served its original purpose as Bankside Power Station, contributing to the huge electrical power needs of the city of London. It must have been a noisy and unwelcoming place then. It now has a quiet and peaceful quality to it and has housed many interesting exhibitions since its conversion to a gallery.

A local Ayrshire poet recites a piece he wrote in the Burns style during a rally in Kilmarnock's Kay Park to show the town's disgust at Diageo's decision to close the Johnnie Walker whisky plant in the town. Johnnie Walker whisky was "Born in Kilmarnock" nearly 200 years ago. Diageo bowed to public pressure when they tried to close down Guinness in Dublin, let's hope they see sense in Kilmarnock too.
